Designing a competition brief for world-class architects
The challenge
By & Havn needed a competition brief that could speak directly to some of the world’s most respected architecture and design firms. As part of the international competition Byens Scene, the document had to balance structured professionalism with refined aesthetic appeal — capturing the attention of an audience fluent in both spatial thinking and narrative nuance. It had to be clear, authoritative, and visually intelligent — all at once.
The solution
We designed a layout that pairs clarity with quiet charisma. A precise grid system brings harmony to text, imagery, and whitespace, creating a calm yet confident reading experience. Typography and colour draw from By & Havn’s identity, subtly enhanced to heighten both legibility and presence. The result is a brief that communicates with elegance and editorial tact — a document that informs and inspires in equal measure.
